Hornsea first up as Halifax resume action

Halifax return to Yorkshire Four action tomorrow after a three-week break for the festive period, with Hornsea the visitors to Ovenden Park.

Halifax beat the Hollismen earlier in the season but only after a sterling second-half comeback.

And Halifax will expect another keenly-fought contest, with Mark Walton’s men knowing they need another win to give them a cushion between themselves and the danger zone.

The festive period has played havoc with the club’s preparations with selection delayed as Walton assesses a couple of injuries.

Dean Cotton, Wayne Beverley and Jonny Greenwood are among those that could return for the clash.

Rising academy players Elliot Hoyle, Joe Burgess and Sam O’Donoghue are also pushing for places after impressing in the inter-club friendly on December 27.

Glen Warne, Luke Hamby and Martyn Barnes are set to miss the match, though, while Luke Sturman is a doubt.
