Queensbury’s Jamie Nicholls missed out on a medal in the inaugural Winter Olympic snowboard slopestyle final in Sochi despite a promising start.
Jamie, who used to train at The Halifax Ski & Snowboard Centre, was second after a superb first run which scored 85.50.
But he slipped down the field after a disappointing second run to finish sixth.
Despite missing out on a medal Jamie said he was “very happy” with his performance.
Jamie said on his Facebook account: “One of the best days of my life! Thanks so much to everyone for the support. Can’t believe that I was part of the most craziest snowboard final to ever go down and to finish 6th and put my run down was something i only dreamt of doing before i came here! Thank you again all so much. Much love!!! x”
