Former heavy weight boxing champion David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye paid a special visit to Halifax.
The ‘I’m a Celebrity’ star who was training for his big comeback on June 29 before injuring his hand this week made time in his busy schedule to spend the evening at The Venue in Barkisland organised by Stephen Oleksewycz.
“He was fantastic. We have organised a lot of celebrity events and he was one of the best. He was very polite and answered to all of our requests and signed a lot of things. His speech was enlightening around his career and what he has been through. He was just a genuine nice guy and we have had some great feedback since.”
The 32-year-old has only scheduled to do two events like this which included Halifax and one in Stoke.
The evening which was a sell-out also included a four-course meal, live music acts, a comedian and a raffle and auction to raise funds for charity.
“We have donated £4,500 to charities so far with our events many of which have been children charities,” said Stephen. “Saturday night was absolutely brilliant and provided a full night of entertainment and we cannot ask for anymore. Customers have gone away happy again.”
