Schnacke spurs Fixby to success

MYTHOLMROYD’S Aaron Schnacke spurred Huddersfield GC to success in Sunday’s Halifax, Huddersfield & District Union Scratch Team Championship at Dewsbury.

Schnacke, currently on the green staff at West End, shot a two-under par 70 in his first round and although he only managed a 77 second time around his 147 total was his side’s best score.

Huddersfield’s four players totalled 607 to win by four shots from Longley Park and the host club with Todmorden fourth, Bradley Hall fifth and West End sixth.

Todmorden’s Dave Stafford had the best individual score with rounds of 71 and 70, followed by Bradley Hall’s Andy Shaw (73-74), Longley Park’s Adam Walker (72-75) and Schnacke.
