Ovenden youngster Warren Everett overcome a bout of illness to win the Sandee Northern Open in Manchester.
Warren, who now fights from TNT Muay Thai in Salford as his previous club closed down, competed in the under-32 kg catergory.
His first fight was challenging and Warren hurt his shin but carried on with the five one minute rounds to book a place in the the semi finals.
Warren only had 10 minutes to recover before his next bout but again he fought with the determination to win against a tough opponent.
Again Warren only had 10 minutes rest and at this point he was ill but decided to carry on.
He came out showing skill and determation, scoring highly in the first round.
Warren came out even stronger in the second round and and ended up stopping his opponent with a good clinch technique and the boy was no longer able to carry on.
Warren will now fight at the Sandee championships at the end of next month.
