Knaresborough ace Dan Linfoot bags British Superbikes showdown place

North Yorkshire motorcycling star Dan Linfoot has secured his place in the MCE British Superbikes final showdown, despite an indifferent weekend at Donnington Park.

The showdown pits the top six riders in the championship against each other for the overall title in the final three races of the calendar.

Linfoot had all but secured his place heading into the Donnington race-meet but he he still needed to confirm his place mathematically.

And an eighth-place finish in the opening 20-lap race secured his place.

However, Knaresborough ace slipped back from seventh to 14th in the second race after suffering a clutch problem on his Quattro Plant Kawasaki bike.

Linfoot, 26, said: “I’m a bit miffed with how this weekend’s gone and whilst it’s been nice to finally confirm my Showdown position, the results here at Donington haven’t been what I wanted.

“It’s all about the Showdown now. It will be nice just to be able to concentrate on racing. I’ve got three rounds and seven races to impress and give the front boys as hard a time as possible.”
