Brighouse snowboarder Katie Ormerod crowned World Champion

Brighouse’s Katie Ormerod has become the first Briton to win a World Cup in snowboarding.

The 22-year-old was top of the standings with one event left, which has now been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Ormerod is the first British woman to win a World Cup title on snow and the first British snowboarder, male or female.

It is her first season back to the World Cup circuit after injury.
