LEE GREENWOOD is not reading into Halifax Panthers’ recent results as he prepares his Dewsbury Rams side for Sunday’s West Yorkshire derby.

Both teams will be hoping to end their losing streaks, with Dewsbury beaten in their last two fixtures while Halifax have suffered three defeats in a row.

Halifax recorded a thumping 47-14 victory over London Broncos in their opening Championship game but have not won since, losing games against Bradford Bulls, Toulouse Olympique and Oldham.

Greenwood anticipates a response from the Panthers following last week’s surprise defeat to Oldham.

“Everyone is a mixed bag, apart from Toulouse and Featherstone,” said Greenwood. “Everybody has looked good on occasion but then not so good at other times.

“We have just got to prepare for the best Halifax turning up. They will be right up for it, following their result at the weekend.

"They need to win but so do we. We need to prepare for the best Halifax team to be available and for all those players to be on top form.”

Dewsbury were beaten by York City Knights last weekend but Greenwood feels that if his side can produce a similar performance level, they will have every chance of beating the Panthers.

He added: “If we can put a similar effort level together that we did against York and improve in a couple of areas then we can give Halifax a game as well.”
