Robinson initially joined Fax midway through the 2015 season from Hull KR and returns to the Shay following a successful three year stint at York City Knights.

He was named League 1 player of the season during their promotion campaign and helped them make the Championship play offs during their first year back in the division.

“I am excited to be coming back to Fax.” he told the club’s website. “I feel that I left without fulfilling my potential before. When my agent mentioned of the interest, it felt like an opportunity to come back and right those wrongs from last time.

“I have had a great time at York. We had some memorable years, but the opportunity to go back and play at Halifax was too good to turn down. After speaking to Grixy and Ian Croad, it was a no brainer to come back and be a part of the family. 2021 can not come quick enough and I wil do everything I can to push Fax to promotion to Super League.”

“Connor is a great addition for us,’ said Fax coach Simon Grix. “He went away for the opportunity to play a bigger part in the running of a team and enjoyed success in doing so. He comes back to us a confident well rounded player. He’s a solid kicker both in play and at goal with some speed about him, which I’ll be pushing him to use. We’ve had a few discussions about what I expect from him and we look forward now to getting into pre season and building the relationships and combinations needed for us to see the best of him.”

Fairbank, 30, has 193 senior career appearances under his belt so far.

He said: “I’m really happy to have a two year extension with Halifax. I’m proud to be playing for my hometown club and can’t wait to be pulling on the jersey again. During my time at the club, I’ve enjoyed some of the best parts of my career and after speaking to Simon the other day, I can’t wait to get back to it with the boys after this long lay off we have had.”

Head coach Grix said: “Bobby is a player his teammates really appreciate. He has a high workrate, which is often overlooked as he is consistent in this area. He’ll remind me of this I am sure, but he is skilful with a good offload and short passing game that we hope to see plenty of in 2021.

“He’s another local who’s looking forward to representing his home town into the future.”
