Todmorden gears-up for Wrestling Showdown event
Wrestling fans of all ages can look forward to an action-packed afternoon on Saturday when the World Wide Wrestling League (W3L) returns to Todmorden.
The World Wide Wrestling League hosts some of the biggest names in wrestling from the UK and abroad, including former WWE stars and top names from TV and major streaming platforms, including the WWE Network.
And the Wrestling Showdown event at Tod College will see the brand new W3L Championship title presented to the winner of the prior night’s ‘Wrestlution’ event, with the holder of the new W3L Championship also being in action on the Todmorden card.
The W3L Championship was established in 2003 and this latest version of the title was unveiled at the ‘For The Love Of Wrestling’ event in Manchester in front of thousands of fans earlier this year.

The Todmorden event will also see the ‘For The Love Of Wrestling’ Champion Sam Bailey defend the coveted championship for the first time in a W3L ring, making this a card filled with championship prestige.
Manchester wrestling star Lana Austin will be in action, making her W3L debut with the strongest women in British wrestling. International power lifting champion Hera is also set to compete at the event.
Other top stars scheduled to appear include European Champion BT Gunn, Wrestling Showdown Champion Hugo Harris and fan favourite ‘Irn’ Drew Marshall.
A total of six bouts will have wrestling fans on the edge of their seats. Doors open at 3pm with the first bout scheduled for 3.30pm.

General admission tickets cost £13, while a family of four admission is £46. There are limited ringside seats remaining and match sponsorships are available for local businesses.
