Karl Fairbank’s side were last night handed a home draw with Featherstone Lions, who impressed when beating an out-of-sorts Siddal 31-12 at Brighouse Sports Club last weekend.

Matches will be played over the weekend of March 7-8.

It will be the third round in a row that Elland play at their hilltop Greetland pitch.

They have already beaten Leeds Beckett Univeristy 26-0 and Conference Premier side Egremont Rangers 16-4.

However, the Jamie Rooney-coached Lions are likely to provide their sternest test yet.

The pair might have hoped for a crack at professional opposition.

The 14 Kingstone Press League One clubs joined 10 community clubs in last night’s draw at the University of Huddersfield, which was conducted by RL greats Alex Murphy MBE and Malcolm Reilly OBE.
