The Shelf-based player, a Fax supporter, spent the second half of 2017 with his hometown club on a similar basis and effectively replaces the injured Harry Kidd, who is expected to be out of action until August with a knee injury.

“We obviously had Brandon on a similar basis last season and he’s definitely got something to offer us,” said Fax boss Richard Marshall.

“He played with a shoulder injury for a number of weeks this year, which showed some toughness on his part.

“He was a kid playing in the front row in the Championship at 19; I’m not sure I could have done that at that age, to be honest.

“I spoke to Daryl Powell about him again following Harry’s injury and they gave us the option of taking him for the season again.

“I think it’s an arrangement that will benefit everyone.”

Marshall, who has already signed another Tigers forward, Will Maher, on a similar basis, said he was unlikely to make any more loan signings, giving him more flexibility to utilise the new dual-registration partnership with the Tigers.

“We can have five loans or dual reg at any one time, so we’ll keep those other three spots open,” he said.

“Myself, Simon Grix and Scott Murrell are going over to Castleford next week to spend some time there and start to build that relationship.”
