Fax sign Moss on long-term loan, set to debut at Leigh

Halifax have signed Hull KR's full back or winger Kieren Moss on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

Moss, who played in the NRL for Penrith and Parramatta, is a straight replacement for Quentin Laulu-Togaga’e, who joined Castleford last week.

The 24 year old, who impressed for Bradford in 2016 before joining the Robins last season, scored 17 tries in 24 appearances for Rovers.

Moss’s opportunities have been limited this season by the presence of Australian Adam Quinlan at Craven Park.

He last played Super League rugby in the derby clash with Hull FC at the Magic Weekend at the end of last month, running in a hat trick of tries from the wing.

“Kieren played against us at Bradford and he has always impressed me, whether that be playing at full-back or on the wing,” said Fax coach Richard Marshall.

“When the opportunity came to bring Kieren to the club, we jumped at it.

He obviously fills the void after QLT left and we acted swiftly to do that to secure him on loan to club until until the end of the season.”

“We have to thank the LS28 Supporters Group who have helped contribute to this deal and to Mike Smith (Hull KR CEO) for agreeing to the deal.

“Kieren will bring a good skill set, he’s also fast - really quick - and brings versatility as he can play either wing or at full-back.

“He’s young and still got some development still to go.”

Moss trained with his new teammates for the first time on Thursday night and is likely to make his debut in Sunday’s Championship showdown at Leigh (3.0).
