Fundraising walk to take place in Halifax for junior rugby team

The walk will raise money for the junior rugby league team and Andy’s Man Club, with all donations to be split 50-50 between the two causes.

Coach Johnny Howard said: “We need equipment that is especially for their age group, and we want to buy them their own kit.

“But it’s also for charity because we wanted to give something back too.

“The Halifax RLFC mascot Halicat will be there and we’re hoping a player will attend as well.

“There’s been a lot of money raised already, but hopefully there will be a lot more to come.

“The team has been going for about 12 months. We only had three or four players when I started it but now we have 25 regulars.”
