Winger Brown leaves Fax

Halifax have confirmed out-of-favour winger Alex Brown has officially left the club.

Brown joined the club from Leigh for 2015, but leaves midway through a two year deal after struggling to nail down a spot in Richard Marshall’s side.

The much-travelled flanker finished last season on loan at Batley and Courier Sport understands he did not return to the Shay for pre-season training in November.

Football Manager Ian Croad said: “Alex needs to be playing rugby and his options at Halifax were extremely limited.

“I’m sure we will be seeing him on the field somewhere else this season.”

Brown was linked with moves to both Doncaster and Batley.
