A rugby league legend will be the star guest at a Dewsbury fundraiser in Danny Jones's memory.
Great Britain international and Golden Boot winner Garry Schofield will answer questions from the audience at the Tetley's Stadium at 7.30pm tomorrow (Friday).
The event has been organised by charity Amber Ribbon to fund the purchase of defibrillators in Halifax-born Keighley Cougars player Danny's name after his death from a hereditary heart condition.
Garry will talk about his views on the modern game while sharing tales from his decorated career.
The evening will also feature live music, a buffet and a memorabilia auction in the ground's Amber Ribbon Bar. All proceeds will go to the defibrillator appeal, which was set up by Danny's widow Lizzie.
The Amber Ribbon has previously supported Dewsbury Rams players affected by illness, injury and personal problems, and chairman Charlie Coates is urging as many people as possible to support the appeal.
“Tickets for this event have sold well but there are still some remaining. If you’d like to join us then you will be made to feel extremely welcome, regardless of your club allegiances. Tickets will be available on the door priced at just £5.
“We cannot imagine a more worthy cause than this. We are proud to support it and hope fans from all clubs will too.”
