Fax announce Sharp is to stay at The Shay

Halifax RLFC have announced that outside back Will Sharp has agreed to stay at the club until at least the end of the 2019 season.

Sharp has been a key player at The Shay since joining from Featherstone in 2016, and has featured at full-back on the wing for Fax, with whom he will now enter his fourth season.

Coach Richard Marshall said of the 32-year-old to the club’s official website: “I’m so pleased that Will’s re-signed because there was a lot of interest in him.

“Will’s a fantastic player for us and he loves this club. If there is a player that always gives 100 per cent on the field, he’s that player, and he epitomises everything that I love and look for in a rugby league player.

“He takes the ball in at real speed every time and he’s always in the frame for carries. He’s a great bloke to coach as well and we’ve done really well to keep hold of him for the 2019 season.”

Fax have also confirmed Ben Heaton and Adam Tangata have left the club.
