Fax chasing Leigh back rower Larroyer?

Halifax are reportedly in the hunt for Leigh's France international back rower Kevin Larroyer.

Speculation on Wednesday morning suggested the club were ‘close’ to signing the former Hull KR and Castleford forward, who is apparently one of two players Leigh need to offload to ensure their survival into 2019.

But Courier Sport understands that no deal for Larroyer has yet been sealed, with the resolution of his troubled relationship with the Centurions at the heart of the situation.

Larroyer would be a logical addition for Fax coach Richard Marshall, who has limited back row choices.

The ultra-consistent Shane Grady is a near-certain starter on the left, leaving Ed Barber, Chester Butler and Simon Grix as right side options.

But with Butler still developing his fledgling talent, Barber a valuable utility presence on the bench and Grix a more influential figure at loose forward, Larroyer would give Marshall a proven, high quality option.
