Halifax boss Karl Harrison has lauded the re-signing of the young back rower Dane Manning as a “real coup” for the Championship leaders.
Manning, one of five players who followed Harrison to the Shay from Batley last autumn, has put to pen to paper on a two year contract extension, following hot on the heels of the new deals signed by Lee Paterson, Steve Tyrer and Craig Ashall last week.
“It’s a coup for us, because Dane is definitely a Super League player in the making,” said Harrison, who said discussions were “ongoing” with other members of his current first team squad.
“Everyone can see what Dane is about by the way he plays; he gives 100 per cent in every training session and every game, and that makes him someone that the other people enjoy playing with.
“He has age on his side, he’s athletic, he’s the right style of player for Super League and he’s got a decent pass in his game as well.
“I’m delighted he’s going to be staying with us.”
