Elland bolstered by returning Fairbanks

Elland coach Karl Fairbank expects to welcome back at least two more Fairbanks and possibly include a third when his side host Dewsbury Celtic in Division Two tomorrow.

James Fairbank, absent for last week’s 38-30 loss at Eastmoor, is available again and will provide a made-to-measure replacement for influential prop Marc Shickell, who is facing a potentially lengthy lay off with a shoulder injury.

Teenager Jorge Fairbank, 18 last weekend but already becoming a significant figure at senior level, could also return after illness while his cousin Miles should be in the mix after a lull in Halifax’s under 23 fixture list.

“Shickell could be out for the season, but we’ll see how he recovers,” said Fairbank.

“Jorge was ill with flu like symptoms, so we’ll have to see how he pulls up in training.

“But Miles should be available which will be a nice bonus .”
