Halifax have appointed Warrington-based businessman Peter Riley as the club’s new commercial and operations director.
Riley, whose arrival is the first tangible evidence of Fax’s pledge to upgrade their off-field set up following their success in this season’s Super 8s Qualifiers, has extensive experience in sport and business.
Having been Chairman of Warrington RUFC for 14 years, as well as working as the Director of the Warrington Cricket Ground Company, he also owns his own financial planning business.
Riley said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to join Halifax RLFC at this exciting time in the club’s history.
“I want to help Halifax achieve their ambition of competing once again in Super League and it is vitally important that we bring the off field activities within the club to the level that was reached on the field in 2015.
“The work done behind the scenes in the last couple of years needs to be built upon and we now need to take a fresh approach and introduce new initiatives to the club which will encourage more support from local and national businesses.
“Richard Marshall and his support team have played the most attractive brand of rugby in the last 12 months, beyond even their own expectations.
“We now need to move on to the next level to continue our development and I am excited to be part of that team.”
Riley has taken over from Craig Poskitt, the former Featherstone Rovers chief executive.
