Halifax will go into Saturday’s final Super 8s Qualifier at Bradford (3.0) buoyed by the news that they have secured overseas forwards Mitch Cahalane and Adam Tangata until the end of the 2017 season.
Tangata, a Cook Islands international who could start in the back row at Odsal in place of the injured Ross Divorty, and Australian Cahalane have both penned one-year extensions to their current contracts.
It caps a busy week at the Shay after the club re-signed their former utility player Simon Grix from Warrington a decade after he left to join the Wolves as a teenager.
“It’s been a good week,” said Marshall.
“Mitch has probably been in our top three players this year and Adam has improved out of sight over the course of the season; I’m really pleased to see them both extend their contracts.
“We’ve built a very formidable pack over the course of the year and they’re a big part of that.
“I’ve no doubt at all they will both go on and play Super League at some point in their careers; I’m very hopeful that will be with us.”
