Halifax have named Huddersfield-based Dave Ferguson as their new physiotherapist for 2015.
Ferguson, who is from East Yorkshire, also works with Fax’s Super League neighbours Huddersfield Giants.
“Dave works with Dave O’Sullivan, whose is the head physio at the Giants,” said boss Richard Marshall, who played in the claret and gold under Tony Smith after leaving Fax in 2000.
“He’s still doing some work there during the day, then coming to us in the evening.
“He’s had a great education and he’s brought some top class techniques with him as a result.”
Ferguson is currently treating forwards Luke Ambler and Ross Divorty, who both have ankle problems, although Marshall was confident that Divorty at least was on course for a speedy recovery.
“Luke isn’t running at the moment because of an injury he brought back from the Ireland games,” said Marshall, whose side are using the all-weather playing surface at Trinity Academy in Holmfield.
“Ross went over on his last week but, hopefully, will be running again this week.”
Halifax are holding a dinner at Bowers Mill, Barkisland, on Thursday, December 11 at which the club’s home and away kits for 2015 will be officially unveiled.
New boss Richard Marshall’s playing squad will be in attendance and tickets are priced at £30 or £275 for a table of 10.
