Halifax have allowed the hooker Ryan Maneely to join Rochdale on a month’s loan.
Maneely, a former Warrington junior, was one of the mainstays of last season’s successful side after being recruited from the Wolves by coach Richard Marshall.
But he has found a first team place hard to come by in recent weeks, with Marshall preferring Ben Kaye and young talent Brandon Moore.
To complicate matters further, Fax are currently playing with just one specialist number nine following the decision to use skipper Scott Murrell in that position to accommodate a third half back, Ben Johnston.
That tactical move has been considered key to the back to back drubbings of Featherstone and Sheffield.
“Ryan has found his first team opportunities limited this season,” said Marshall.
“We have excellent competition for places in our squad and the number nine position is no different.
“This move will help Ryan benefit his rugby league career and we wish him the best of luck with Rochdale.”
