Former Bradford, Warrington and Salford forward Rob Parker, who was club captain of Leigh in 2013, has announced his retirement at the age of 32.

Parker enjoyed a successful four-year spell at Bradford, where he won Super League Grand Final medals in 2003 and 2005 and was a member of the Bulls’ team that completed the league and cup double in 2003.

“I am extremely sad to announce my retirement but I feel the time is right for me to call it a day,” Parker said.

“The game has given me so much, with memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
