Calderdale amateurs Siddal and Elland have both been handed away ties in the first round of the Challenge Cup, which kicks off on the first weekend in February.

National Conference Premier Division outfit Siddal must travel to York Acorn, while Karl Fairbank’s Elland, who play their league rugby in Division Two, will face Warrington-based Woolston.

Despite neither side being drawn with home advantage, both should be cautiously optimistic of making progress.

Acorn finished in the Premier Division relegation zone last season while Woolston finished their Division Three campaign in fifth place.
