Ovenden coach Gareth Jones remains optimistic about his side’s prospects in Division Two ahead of tomorrow’s home game against Waterhead.
Jones’ side slipped up at East Leeds last weekend, slipping to third as a result, although they remain just two points off top spot.
“We’re well placed, and if we get a win tomorrow we will start to open up a bit of a gap,” said Jones.
“We said June was going to be a big month and we have won three out of four so far.
“If we can end up with eight points from a possible 10, that would be great.”
Ovenden should have Brighouse Rangers player-coach and former Doncaster player Alex Muff - who signed on in time to figure in Leeds last weekend - making his home debut.
But star forward Andrew Brocklehurst is rated doubtful with a sternum injury.
