Smith and Jones find new homes

TWO of the casualties of new coach Karl Harrison’s Halifax clearout have found new homes.

Half back Danny Jones has gone back to newly-promoted Keighley, just a year after leaving Cougar Park to return to his hometown club, to play under Australian player-boss Jason Demetriou.

Jones, man of the match in Keighley’s 2009 Championship One Grand Final win, told the Cougars’ official website he was “glad to be home.”

And veteran back rower Paul Smith was expected to be unveiled as an Oldham player today.

Smith, who played in the 2006 Challenge Cup final for Huddersfield, spent four years with Fax in two spells, with a one season break in 2010, when he played for Swinton and Leigh.
