Ovenden face a test of their form when they host Division Two high flyers Shaw Cross tomorrow.
The Dewsbury outfit sit second on the league ladder after a winning streak stretching back seven games.
“They are the form team in the league,” said Ovenden coach Gareth English.
“It will be a good test for us; we lost by 16 points over at their place earlier in the season and I feel we’ve improved since then.
“It will be a big test for us, but we’ve won our last two home games and we’ve got every reason to be confident.”
Ovenden will be without prop Matty Collins, half back Mickey Holden and Dean Robertshaw, who are all unavailable, but will welcome back experienced forwards Matt Turner and Pete Williams.
Liam Walsh could start at hooker after impressing in training.
“We’ve got three out, but a couple back,” said English.
“We should have a good enough squad to cope with that.”
