Siddal coach Gareth Greenwood said he struggled to come to terms with the manner of his side’s 24-17 Premier Division loss at Leigh Miners.
Siddal, who have not won at Miners for at least a decade, dominated the game early on, but struggled to convert that into points.
“We started strongly, but ended up at 10-10 and let it get away from us,” said Greenwood, whose side now have a weekend off before hosting Skirlaugh.
“I’d still say we were the better side by a long way, I’m not sure how we lost and I’m still struggling to talk about it.
“We’d prepared well, and we took a strong side. It’s gutting.
“There were a lot of penalties, and I felt some of them maybe weren’t justified, but we need to be able to deal with situations like that better than we did.”
