Halifax RUFC’s Crossbar Challenge proved popular - even new Halifax MP Holly Lynch had several attempts.

Lynch talked about the impact the tournament will have on grass roots sport.

She said: “Having played rugby union for both Lancaster University and Halifax Vandals, it’s fantastic to welcome the Webb Ellis Cup to Halifax.

“I’d encourage anyone to pick up a ball and give it a go.

Rugby is for all shapes and sizes and as a smaller player, it certainly taught me how to pack a punch - which is serving me well in politics!”
