Acoustic duo to perform at Westgate Arcade in Halifax to support music venues

Acoustic duo Arden Sky will perform a special outdoor charity show at Westgate Arcade in Halifax on Saturday and will be collecting money for the Music Venue Trust and the Pleasance Theatre Trust.

This performance - Arden Sky’s first since lockdown - follows a packed debut at København in February and a ‘homecoming’ show at the Murgatroyd Arms, where they had previously honed their performing skills at the open mic nights.

Audiences can expect reworked versions of their favourite covers from across the musical spectrum, ranging from modern pop and indie to jazzy swing - alongside other musical surprises.

Guitarist Danny Cooper said on the Music Venue Trust: “Small venues form the backbone of our local music scene; the time has come for the music community to give something back to these small venues. The Music Venue Trust supports grassroots music venues up and down the country.”

Vocalist Joe Nunn said on the Pleasance Theatre Trust: “The Pleasance puts on award-winning comedy alongside great theatre and music, and many of the performers are newcomers who have been given their first big opportunity. Through them I found much of the inspiration that has shaped me as a performer.”

Arden Sky will be performing at 6.30pm. Donations can be made at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/arden-sky, and will be split evenly between the two chosen charities.

Updates on the fundraising effort can be found on Arden Sky’s Facebook and Instagram profiles.
