Choral music at its best

Halifax Choral Society concerts are never dull affairs and its latest promises to be an absolute triumph of high quality music.

The historic society is joined by the world famous Black Dyke Band and Yorkshire Youth Choir to perform Welsh composer Karl Jenkins’ Mass For Peace The Armed Man and John Rutter’s Gloria under the baton of John Pryce-Jones at the Victoria Theatre on Sunday, October 16 at 4pm.

Mass for Peace was originally commissioned by the Royal Armouries Museum for the Millennium celebrations and was dedicated to victims of the Kosovo crisis.

Rutter who is now 71 composed Gloria in 1974 - one of his first major works.
