Dale Castell began streaming his DJ sets at the start of lockdown in March last year from his son Leo’s bedroom. From what started as something to pass the time soon became a lifeline for many homebound clubbers across the world.

His streams reach hundreds of thousands of people each week and were twice featured on BBC Look North. In the last 12 months Dale’s live streams have also raised over £20,000 for Overgate Hospice in Elland, Wheatfields Hospice in Leeds and Cash for Kids.

“I’m super proud to bring this event to Halifax” Dale said. “There’s a massive buzz already, with most hotels now fully booked. It’s amazing to see after what they’ve been through.

“It’s going to be an epic celebration of House music, bringing people to Halifax from all over the country, the atmosphere in the town on the day will be something very special.

“We’re transforming the theatre into a super club! We’re using the production company that work with Ministry of Sound, bringing in a festival sound system, CO2 and confetti cannons plus a LED wall for visuals, along with international guest DJs and performers, it will be an event the likes of which Halifax has never seen before.”

During the last 12 months Dale has created the group “Our House Family” which is an online community of people on Facebook, sharing positive vibes and offering support for each other during difficult times.

In February, Boris Johnson outlined the government’s lockdown exit strategy, announcing nightclubs and large scale events will be able to go ahead from June 21.

If you wish to attend the event there are a limited number of tickets remaining from Skiddle.

The event takes place on Saturday, July 31 from 7pm to 2am.
