The Heritage Open Day festival – England’s largest festival of history and culture – has returned, running from September 11 to 20.
It gives residents and visitors the perfect opportunity to explore historical buildings in their area for free, with several iconic venues across Halifax and Calderdale taking part.
On Saturday (September 12), Bankfield Museum, Shibden Hall, and Halifax Minster opened their doors so visitors could enjoy their stunning architecture and exhibits.
Take a look through the gallery which captures the beautiful buildings and some of their visitors from the weekend.
