It's Boo's turn in the spotlight

Boo Hewardine and Findlay Napier, two of the most respected songwriters in the UK, will visit Calderdale as part of their current national tour on Friday, November 25. They will appear on the same bill at Wadsworth Community Centre, Old Town, Hebden Bridge, doors open 6.45pm.

Boo Hewerdine, a singer-songwriter and record producer, is the lead singer and creative force behind The Bible, formed in the 1980s and re-formed in 1994. He has been described as ‘one of Britain’s most consistently accomplished songwriters’ and his songs have been covered by more than 50 artists.

He has worked with Scottish singer Eddi Reader, Kris Drever of Lau and Chris Difford of Squeeze and his nusical talent and timeless songs are complimented by his droll and dry humour.

In 2014, the release of his ‘best of’ compilation ‘My Name in Brackets’ drew the comment: “I decided to release a greatest hits - without ever having had one.”

This year, after the release of his EP ‘Born’, Boo has been working on the album ‘Swimming in Mercury’, due out shortly.

Findlay Napier is a Glasgow-based singer songwriter whose work is a link between the worlds of folk and Americana. A regular at Celtic Connections, he is one of the best-regarded performers on the Scottish music scene. He made his name touring and recording with the traditional Scottish folk band Back of the Moon.His most recent album ‘VIP’ was co-written and produced with Boo Hewerdine.
