In addition to the instrumental tunes, there will be several vocal numbers performed by singers Robert Gee and Shelly Davies.

Directed by bandleader Geoff Atherton, the band will present a programme of music ranging from the golden age of swing through to modern day jazz.

The Calderdale Big Band started life in June 2002 under the name of The Calder Valley Youth Dance Orchestra, the brain child of local musician and teacher Derek Southcott, who was at the time lead trombone with the Sid Lawrence orchestra and Roy Sparrow a local big band enthusiast.
