This year’s theme was “Todmorden Carnival Needs You - Past Parades of Todmorden” and it brought out all kinds of costumes, floats and foot tableaux, including super heroes, suffragettes and cave men and cave women.

Carnival committee chairman Philip Clarke said: “Overall we couldn’t have asked for a better day weather wise. The majority of Todmorden came out and supported the parade and there was between 1,500 and 2,000 people in the park at any one time.

“I’d like to thank the people of Todmorden and all the entertainers for supporting the event.”
