Halifax musician Patrick McCallion has collaborated with top producer David M Allen for his first solo single Voices which is released next Friday.

The track which Patrick describes as a convergence of his acoustic career and the music of his band Small Words, is the first of several he will release this year thanks to financial backing by his friends and fans following an online Kickstarter campaign.

“I am so grateful to everyone who backed the campaign. We reached our target in just 10 days,” he said.

Patrick, who has just finished a music degree, recorded the songs in Brighton with Allen who was behind many hits with bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, Nenah Cherry, Sisters of Mercy and more.

“It was a brilliant experience. The great thing about Dave is that he likes to fill his studio with creative people which is how I like to work.”
