Luddenden artist Catherine Davis has designed free colouring sheets to help kids beat lockdown boredom and thank key workers for their support during the coronavirus crisis.

Like many freelancers across the nation, when lockdown began Catherine found herself with a lot more spare time on her hands, and wanted to use her talents to do something productive and helpful.

She designed lockdown colouring sheets that feature thank you messages to the NHS and Calderdale landmarks such as the Piece Hall in Halifax, Stoodley Pike in Todmorden, and the Packhorse Bridge in Hebden Bridge.

Catherine, who has family and close friends that work for the NHS, has encouraged families to display the colouring sheets in their windows, as part of the rainbow windows trend that has swept the nation.

Catherine said: “I wanted to do something in support of our wonderful NHS and keyworkers. They are working so hard both in the hospitals and in our local community providing support, comfort and care to those that need it - they are amazing!

“As an artist, I’m at home like a lot of other people up and down the country.

“I just wanted to find a way to use my skills to help and support others during this difficult time.

“I thought these locally themed colouring sheets would not only help families at home, providing children with some indoor fun and creativity time, and brighten up an NHS or key workers day if they saw them on display.”
