Three concerts in one terrific week of music

This year's annual music festival held in Heptonstall during the Spring Bank Holiday week will involve an extra member on the professional staff this year.

This follows the appointment of an assistant to Keith Orrell, the choral director.

Charlie Gower-Smith works as a freelance conductor and baritone across Northern England. He directs chamber choirs, runs workplace choirs and is assistant director of the Halle Ancoats Community Choir.

There are still places available in all areas of the choir if singers would like to join Keith and Charlie for a fun week of singing, rehearsing and performance.

Choral pieces include Holst’s 3rd set of Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda,

Britten’s Ballad of Little Musgrave and Lady Bernard, and Mozart’s C minor Mass.

Local soprano Catrin Pryce-Jones joins Philippa Hyde, Richard Dowling and Richard Moore as soloists on the final night for the Mozart Mass.
