Brilliant comedian Jimmy Carr kicks off eight days of laughter and fun at the Victoria Theatre tonight marking the start of the Halifax Comedy Festival.

In its second year this event plays across eight quirky venues from the huge spaces at the Victoria Theatre, Square Chapel and Arden Road Social club to the less well known Wellington Rooms. More than 30 acts are performing this year including headliners Al Murray, Romesh Ranganathan (Full), Russell Kane. Some events are already starting to sell out so don’t delay.
