Brighouse goes back in time

An incredible 100,000 people were estimated to have visited Brighouse during last year’s 1940s Weekend - that is three times as many people live in the town.

And with the sun threatening to shine all weekend organisers, Brighouse Business Initiative will be hoping to at least match the numbers on this the third running of the event.

This year’s weekend commemorates the 70th anniversary of VE Day and there is a big focus on the music and euphoria of that year to bring a party atmosphere to the town.

Singers will perform on four stages, there will be dancing in two areas, an RAF fly past involving a WW2 Dakota and displays of anything and everything from the 40s.
