Thousands turned out for Calderdale Pride at the Piece Hall at the weekend.
Most went to see Craig Saggers and Josef Al-Smadi, better known as former X-Factor act Diva Fever who were headlining this year’s show.
The duo opened the show and later performed in front of the excited crowd.
They were joined on stage by a host of other performers, including iTunes’ biggest selling unsigned artist Ryan Turner, Halifax singer-song writer Patrick McCallion and Lady Gaga tribute act Haus of Gaga.
Diva Fever’s Craig said the duo had enjoyed their day in Halifax.
“We have never been to Halifax before. I’m from Peterborough and Josef is from Leicester and it looks nicer than those places. It’s been a really good day and we’re pleased to be able to get out and see the fans, particularly the younger ones.”
Josef added: “Primarily it’s good to support these pride events, but also to let people know we’re still around.”
Matt Gostridge, chairman of Calderdale Pride, said he thought around 9,000 people passed through the Piece Hall during the day
“We’re really pleased with the turnout. We’ve been able to get the bigger acts like Diva Fever here which shows how the event is growing and we’re delighted with how it went.
“We had a truly fabulous day and exceeded all expectations by clocking a truly record-breaking 9,000 visitors through the gates.”
