Gentleman Jack filming locations - Calderdale spots used in Anne Lister drama

BBC One drama Gentleman Jack has kept us hooked right from the first episode, telling the story of Halifax diarist Anne Lister. It's also been great for location spotting familiar Calderdale places.

Here are some of the Calderdale filming locations used in BBC's Gentleman Jack, as well as other spots which were used as local locations but were actually filmed elsewhere.

The Lister sisters were heading in the wrong direction as they walked from Shibden into Halifax. The road to town was actually filmed on Wakefield Gate heading out of Halifax close to Wainhouse Tower.

Anyone who loves walking around the Shibden Valley will have recognised this location. When Anne was beaten up in episode five, her attacker was waiting for her in Bare Head Tunnel on the road just off Green Lane.
