An image of the iconic red phone box overlooking the snowy Calder Valley has scooped the top prize in a national photography competition.
Mark Rosser, of Elland, snapped the beautiful image at Krumlin in January and beat 170 other entries to take the top spot.
Judges of the competition, run by Sykes Cottages holiday cottages, thought the image captured the beauty of winter in the UK perfectly.
Mark, 51, said: “My girlfriend put the picture in and the first I knew about it was when I won.
“I’m out and about in my van all the time and I just take my camera with me.
“I was surprised to find out I’d won, but I was made up. It’s nice when someone appreciates your photographs.”
Mark, who runs Premier Aerial & Satellite Services, will now enjoy his prize of £500 of holiday vouchers.
Tom Lowes, of Sykes Cottages, said: “We chose Mark’s image as the winner as we loved the iconic red phone box contrasting against the snowy landscape. West Yorkshire is a truly beautiful area of the country in summer and winter and this image proves it.
“We were very impressed with the diversity of images we received throughout the competition that show why winter in the UK is really no excuse to stay indoors.”
