Calderdale singing group Kimber’s Men are set to make their live TV debut on Sunday, October 19.
The five-piece ensemble, formed in 2001, will appear on the Channel 4 programme ‘Sunday Brunch’, which starts at 9.30am.
They will sing a selection of sea songs and shanties at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. Spokesman Joe Stead, who takes the role of the Ship’s Doctor, said: “We appeared on BBC2 a couple of years ago on Christmas Eve but this is our first ‘live’ appearance. It was very kind of the National Maritime Museum to recommend us to the show’s producers.
“We played in Greenwich the other weekend at the Tall Ships Festival where we performed to a couple of thousand people.”
Also in Kimber’s Men are Mike Beeke, Neil Kimber, Gareth Scott and John Bromley. For more information on the group, call 01422 833659.
