Well-known entertainer Ian Moorhouse brings his talents to another Halifax Gilbert & Sullivan Society production, this time as pompous Pooh-Bah in the classic comic opera The Mikado.
It is hard to beat this G&S masterpiece, where a wandering minstrel and a none-too-innocent schoolgirl are embroiled in a topsy-turvy love triangle with the Lord High Executioner.
Along the way we hear some of the most hummable tunes in musical theatre, accompanied by wonderful wit and humour. This bright and colourful show is being performed by Halifax Gilbert & Sullivan Society, from November 5 to 9 (7.30pm) with a Saturday matinee at Halifax Playhouse. Tickets are £10, concessions £8 - opening night two seats for £12. All matinee seats £8. Ticket hotline is 01422 381931.
Halifax G&S Society has won the NODA award for best show in Calderdale for the past two years, for HMS Pinafore and Princess Ida, last year’s offering.
