Get in’t mood with carols and brass ...

What a treat Halifax is in for as November disappears out of the back door and December comes in at the front.

The first of three concerts takes place on Sunday November 29 when Halifax Choral Society performs Handel’s Messiah with the North of England Classical Orchestra. This rich masterpiece has been performed by the Halifax Choral Society for the past 197 years.

Soloists this year are Peyee Chen, Sarah Denbee, Joshua Ellicott and Alexander Robin Baker. Musical Director is as ever John Pryce-Jones. The perfomance starts at 4pm in the Victoria Theatre.

The choir barely gets a break before it is back at the Victoria Theatre again on Thursday, December 3 and Friday, December 4 at 7.30pm with the Black Dyke band for the wonderful Carols & Brass concerts. This has become so popular there are now two of them.

The concerts are light and humorous and suitable for all the family with a delicious helping of Christmas - beautiful feel-good concerts.

Thursday night features a little more Black Dyke, Friday’s performance includes an an extra choir on stage.

Tickets for all three concerts can be bought from the Theatre Box Office on 01422 351158 priced between £11 and £24 with concessions available.
