Music to inspire Christmas spirit

Christmas is coming early to Halifax this year with three concerts featuring Halifax Choral Society.

The North of England Classical Orchestra joins the Choral Society for the first of these annual performances, Handel’s Messiah on November 30 and they are joined by four fabulous soloists.

Brian McBride who sang bass baritone solo last year returns along with soprano Hazel McBain, mezzo soprano Penelope Cousland and tenor Joshua Owen.

These are all very new and successful opera students, who, already have huge achievements under their belts and are destined for great things.

Following the success of recent earlier performances of The Messiah, the concert will begin at 4pm on Sunday, November 30 allowing people time to do their Christmas shopping in Halifax. It will finish at around 6.20pm.

Tickets are from £10 and £22 with concessions available and can be bought from the Victoria Theatre box office on 01422 351158.

lHandel’s Messiah is a fabulous piece of music giving just short of two hours of enjoyment.
